24th of February 2024 marks two years since the war in Ukraine started. Since then, nearly 6.3 million people have been displaced. Many are fleeing from major cities such as Kyiv and Khrakiv and are travelling west, in search of a safe place. Ternopil is the first city on this route to safety, it is in the western part of Ukraine and is considered relatively safe. This is why many refugees have stopped and settled here. Blythswood's partners in cities like Ternopil are still busy. In the early stages of war, immediate shelter was given in churches and halls and many needed emergency humanitarian aid. Today, many are still far from home. Our partners are giving out food on a daily basis, offering counselling for those suffering from the trauma of war and helping families and individuals in practical ways. 16,747 people have received aid through Blythswood Care projects in Ukraine. There are 255 miles between Ternopil and Kyiv, Ukraine Capital City. Help us to raise money for our partner organisations working in Ternopil and throughout Ukraine, by walking 255 miles in the next year. The needs of our Ukrainian partners keep growing as people still need help.
